An exciting career opportunity is immediately available in Dr. Gau's laboratory in the Department of Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh for a postdoctoral associate. Our lab studies the role of the actin cytoskeletal signaling in diseases such as kidney cancer. To study the signaling role of the cytoskeleton, the Candidate will contribute to the following projects:
1) Delineating the impact of actin cytoskeletal signaling in kidney cancer tumorigenesis
2) Exploring the role of EV signaling in cancer progression and priming of metastatic sites
Candidates should have a PhD, MD, or DVM degree and be familiar with basic techniques in molecular biology and flow cytometry. Research experience in cell isolation and sorting, tissue imaging, transcriptomics, ELISA is also highly desirable. The Candidate is expected to have excellent verbal/written communication skills, and at least one first-author publication in one of the areas mentioned above is recommended. The successful Candidate will be highly motivated to lead these projects independently, learn new skills, and tackle important scientific questions.
Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.
